| Toolmaking: |
 |
Knowledge and experience in the design,
build, tryout and proving of multi-stage progression,
pierce and blank/crop, form, compound and assembly
press tools. We also undertake the design and manufacture
of fixtures and gauges to customer requirements. We
design and manufacture tooling from existing customer
component drawings and can reverse engineer from component
samples.
We have over 50 years of experience in toolmaking
and manufacture and offer a full in house service promoting
high quality results within agreed lead times.

| CNC
Wire Eroded Components: |
 |
The introduction of
wire erosion machines to our company has transformed
our methods and approach
to the manufacture of tooling and precision components.
Historically labour intensive processes have been eliminated
allowing “lights out” precision manufacture
aided by auto wire feed functions for multi aperture
work. Artificial intelligence wire compensation and
generator settings guarantee accurate repeatability
of workpiece dimension with optimum surface finish.
Our wire eroders are not used solely for punch and
die applications. We alternate between component production,
electrode manufacture, prototypes, tooling production
and even the stock removal of materials when preparing
materials to reduce lead times.

 |
| Presswork: |
 |
Diversifying from our toolmaking origin
we now produce pressed components for industry sectors
such as aerospace, electronics, medical, and food.
Pressing capacity from 5 ton-120ton working in a wide
variety of materials such as copper, aluminium, beryllium
copper, steel, plastic, paper, nickel chrome, nickel
aluminium, brass and stainless steel.
We have built a trusted network of approved suppliers
offering a range of finishing to our presswork including
paint, anodising, silver, nickel, gold, zinc and trivalent.
As a profitable presswork company we have focused
on the need to accommodate small volume production
in line with large volume requirements. Continued expansion
has increased our handling/storage/despatch and press
production areas.

| CNC
Machining: |
 |
Complimenting our toolmaking, wire
eroding and presswork services we offer full CNC milling
and CNC turning capability. Both applications are balanced
between tool manufacture requirements and batch production
of precision components allowing us to maximise flexibility
in our approach.

 |
| Assembly
Work: |
 |
After
initial presswork, machining and finishing processes
we assemble components to customer specification
using a number of methods including hand assembly,
rivetting, pressed insertions, spot welding, spin
rivetting and swaging. We use a variety of fastenings
and inserts where required including press fit studs,
self clinching fasteners, manganese/steel/copper
rivets, hank bushes, rosan nuts, springs, rollers
and washers.
Some
assemblies are then subject to further operations
such as precision grinding, milling, sizing, gauging
and polishing before packing and despatch. [top]

| Painted & Screen
Printed Components: |
 |
Where
required we provide finishing using local providers.
We have well established relationships with powder
coaters, electroplaters, chemical converters and
silk screen printers and can satisfy any need as
part of our one stop service.

 |
| Combination: |
 |
With
an increased demand in high precision low volume
batches there has been a significant growth of “combination” work
allowing a reduction in hard tool costs ie:
1. Blanked/formed components requiring subsequent
precision machining operations-edm drilling/cnc milling/cnc
wire eroding
2. Wire eroded blanks or cnc milled components requiring
subsequent forming operations.
This type of work requires the resources of both press
shop and precision machining facility to combine processes
and allow the manufacture of low volume precision components
without unnecessary tooling cost. The example shown
has undergone guillotined blank/stacked and cnc drilled
preparation pack/wire eroded flat blank/2 off forming
operations/bead blast/alochrome tpe39/assembly operation

| Prototypes: |
 |
We
are regularly involved in protoyping and research
and development projects. We work with universities,
private research organisations and commercial companies
in the development of designs and products with tooling
budgets to suit. Often using “soft” tools
and small batch wire cut blanks we will work with
our customers to develop and trial designs with change
and improvement costs kept to a minimum during the
development process. We also advise on the best production
methods when quoting for production parts.
