Trout
Tool Company: Established in 1953 to
meet the high demand for precision engineering and
press tools across the Thames Valley region, the company
manufactures presstools, jigs & fixtures and carries
out presstool repairs and modifications. Trout Tool
Companies capacity includes wire erosion, cnc milling,
machining, grinding and general engineering machines.
Metal
Shapes & Pressings: Established in 1996
with one 40 ton press, the company has expanded its presswork
capacity up to 120 tonnes using both coil, strip and manual
fed materials.
Overview:
The Trout Tool Company and Metal Shapes & Pressings
operate as a joint company offering complimentary sub-contract
engineering and machining services to companies across
the UK region including the electronics and aerospace
sectors. Trout
Tool is a family owned business with over 50 years experience
in toolmaking and supplementary toolmaking, wire erosion
and machining services.

Background:
Operating from our 8000 sq.ft production facility in Yiewsley,
Middlesex, just minutes from junction 4 on the M4, The
Trout Tool Company is an ISO 9001 registered company with
a highly skilled workforce of 16 people. In 1996 Metal
Shapes & Pressings was incorporated which has resulted
in the company expanding from 1 unit on the Kirby Estate
to 5 units across both the Kirby and the Rainbow Trading
Estates and is continuing to grow. In November 2005 we
purchased a new Joemers EDM machine.
Service:
We offer a one stop shop & environment for all presswork
requirements including tool design, production and maintenance
as well as metal presswork and the production of shaped,
machined and finished parts.
Toolmaking:
Trout Tool Company designs, manufactures and repairs press
tools for single stroke and multi-stage progression tools
and dies. We provide toolmaking services for both inhouse
presswork requirements as well as for use with external
customers press machines.
Presswork:
We offer presswork services in a range of materials including
mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium and specialist alloys,
working from sheet or coil stock with thicknesses of up
to 10mm. With power presses ranging from 5 tons to 120
tons capacity we are ideally suited to both low volume
specials as well as medium/high volume batch runs.
Design:
As part of our one stop shop service we offer design, R&D
and prototype development services. Our design capability
includes the latest AutoCAD 2005 software with A0 colour
plotters and a range of CAM systems.

component finishing, metal finishing, spin riveting,
